Job Overview: The Advisory Services Provider will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and the overall supervision of the Head of LMD. The primary focus of this role is to provide direct advisory services to individuals with temporary protection status, addressing their specific needs for movement assistance. This includes offering guidance on nostrification of legal documents, participation in labor office requalification programs, and providing employment and legal advisory services. The selected candidate will also assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, ensuring that all actions align with the organization's goals and the needs of the target population. The role requires a proactive approach to retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information on project topics, as well as monitoring the project budget and ensuring the availability of funds. The Advisory Services Provider will also support administrative coordination, liaising with various organizational units and external parties to facilitate project implementation. This position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to draft reports and correspondence, and the capacity to organize meetings and training sessions effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Advisory Services Provider include:
Providing direct advisory services to individuals with temporary protection status, including legal and employment guidance.
Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting relevant information and data on specific project topics.
Monitoring the project budget, verifying the availability of funds, and updating budget-related information as necessary.
Supporting administrative coordination of project implementation, including liaising with various organizational units and external parties.
Drafting status reports that identify shortfalls in delivery and bringing these to the attention of the supervisor.
Preparing correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation.
Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions to facilitate project objectives.
Responding to general information requests and inquiries, and maintaining organized files and records. 1
Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Advisory Services Provider position include:
A high school diploma with four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Proven experience in providing consultations to individuals from the target group of temporary protection holders.
Experience in negotiating and liaising with government institutions.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations, or government institutions in a multi-cultural setting is considered an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas are also beneficial.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Law. The educational background should be from an accredited academic institution, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the principles and practices related to migration and humanitarian assistance.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or four years of relevant experience if they have a high school diploma. Experience should include providing consultations to individuals with temporary protection status, negotiating with government institutions, and working with vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is highly valued and will enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.
Languages: Fluency in English, Czech, and either Ukrainian or Russian is mandatory for all applicants, both in oral and written forms. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Knowledge of IOM’s official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish, is considered an advantage but is not mandatory for this position.
Additional Notes: The position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for the Czech Republic will be considered. Any offer made to the candidate is contingent upon funding confirmation. The selection process may also be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months. Appointment is subject to certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the concerned government.
