Job Overview:
The consultancy position is designed to support UNICEF Country Offices in South Asia in analyzing and utilizing child-related surveys. The primary focus is on producing updated analyses of child-related Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators and developing policy-oriented evidence products from recent household and child surveys. This role is crucial for enhancing UNICEF's contribution to evidence-based policymaking in the region by strengthening the analytical capacity of Country Offices. The consultant will work closely with Country Offices to ensure that the analyses are contextually relevant and methodologically sound, ultimately aiding governments in designing and monitoring policies that improve children's lives. The consultancy aims to create a sustainable model of data analysis that enhances comparability and promotes effective data use for children across South Asia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for implementing four analytical products linked to the calculation of SDG indicators based on child-related surveys, as well as four analytical products aimed at producing indicators to support evidence-based policies. The tasks include conducting consultations with supervisors, reviewing relevant policies, designing a detailed work plan, and delivering the analytical products. Key deliverables include an inception report and approved work plan by January 31, 2026, and replicable code and reports of findings for each product by June 30, 202
  • The consultant will ensure that all outputs are produced using open-source software environments to maintain transparency and reproducibility.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant area is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of professional experience applying statistics to analyze survey data, with working experience in analyzing MICS, HIES, LFS, or Census data being advantageous. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science. A master's degree in a related field is preferred and would enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
