Job Posting Organization: The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) was established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Türkiye. It is one of the six Global Policy Centres of UNDP, focusing on enhancing the role of the private sector and foundations in development. The organization aims to support these entities to become transformative partners through various means such as research, advocacy for inclusive business, and facilitating public-private dialogue. IICPSD operates globally, leading UNDP's initiatives on private sector engagement and foundations, and it is involved in four thematic areas: Inclusive Business, Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development, Impact Investing, and Resilience and Crisis Response. Job Overview: The position of Volunteer Tool & Dashboard Development Support is integral to the Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, which aims to mobilize skilled digital volunteers to create open-source solutions for disaster preparedness and response. This role specifically focuses on strengthening resilience efforts in Armenia, where UNDP and Tech4R are piloting a modular disaster data system. The responsibilities include developing digital survey forms, building interactive dashboards, and integrating AI features to enhance data interpretation and resource allocation. The position requires collaboration with the Tech4R team to ensure that the tools developed meet the needs of resilience and emergency response, making it a vital role in the ongoing efforts to improve disaster management in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Volunteer Tool & Dashboard Development Support will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the disaster data system. Key duties include:
Developing and customizing digital survey forms using Kobo Toolbox/ODK to facilitate data collection.
Building interactive dashboards using Power BI, Superset, or other open-source tools to visualize data effectively.
Integrating AI or automation features to flag anomalies in data, summarize trends, and suggest priority actions based on the collected data.
Ensuring that the dashboards are user-friendly, multilingual, and accessible to a diverse range of stakeholders, including decision-makers and community members.
Conducting functionality testing to identify and troubleshoot bugs, refining workflows to improve efficiency and usability.
Collaborating closely with the Tech4R team to align the developed tools with the specific needs of resilience and emergency response efforts in Armenia.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in digital tool development and data visualization. Required qualifications include proficiency in using Kobo Toolbox/ODK for survey form development, experience with dashboard creation in Power BI or similar platforms, and familiarity with AI integration for data analysis. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A commitment to the mission of enhancing disaster resilience through technology is essential.
Educational Background: A degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field is preferred for this position. Candidates with relevant certifications or training in data visualization tools and digital survey methodologies will also be considered favorably. Experience: Candidates should have prior experience in developing digital tools and dashboards, particularly in contexts related to disaster management or humanitarian response.
