Job Overview:
The position of Organizational Development Consultant focuses on enhancing staff preparedness for career transitions, financial stability, and long-term wellbeing. The consultant will design and facilitate workshops or webinars that address sustainable entrepreneurship, business start-up, and financial wellbeing. The role requires creating participatory and contextually relevant sessions tailored to the diverse needs of UNICEF staff. The consultant will also be responsible for developing materials, facilitating sessions, and providing reports on participation and feedback, ultimately contributing to the ongoing development of staff support services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Planning and Preparation: Develop a detailed session concept note and implementation plan in consultation with the People & Culture Section, defining session objectives, target audience, learning approach, and logistics. Identify and curate relevant tools and resources to enrich learning content.
  • Design and Facilitation of Sessions: Design and facilitate interactive sessions on Entrepreneurship & Business Start-Up and/or Financial Planning & Retirement Preparedness. Develop a comprehensive curriculum and presentation materials tailored to staff needs. Deliver engaging sessions that encourage peer learning and individual reflection.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Prepare concise post-session reports summarizing participation, key insights, and lessons learned. Document emerging themes and recommendations to inform future staff development initiatives. Facilitate knowledge sharing within the established Community of Practice.
  • Final Consultancy Report: Develop and submit a comprehensive final report consolidating all activities undertaken, summarizing key outcomes, lessons learned, participant feedback, and recommendations for sustaining staff learning and wellbeing efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in organizational development, management consulting, adult learning, or HR advisory. Proven track record in designing and delivering workplace learning and development interventions for diverse staff groups. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation methods, and change management approaches. Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage participants across different levels. Ability to create and adapt interactive training materials. Experience in conducting needs assessments and tailoring interventions to organizational priorities. Desirable qualifications include prior experience with UN agencies or similar multicultural environments, familiarity with UNICEF’s culture, and knowledge of cultural diversity and cross-cultural communication strategies.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in organizational development, human resources, adult education, or a related field is typically required. Professional certifications in coaching, facilitation, or organizational development are also desirable.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience in organizational development, management consulting, or adult learning. Candidates should have a proven track record in designing and delivering effective learning interventions and possess strong facilitation and communication skills.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in a multicultural environment like UNICEF.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to be flexible in terms of working arrangements, with an emphasis on remote work where applicable. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members under UN regulations and will not be entitled to benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. They are responsible for their tax liabilities and ensuring valid visa and health insurance for the contract duration. Selected candidates must confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this does not apply to remote consultants.
