Job Overview:
The Human Resources Associate (Data & Systems support) plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient implementation of various Human Resources functions within UNICEF Nigeria. This position involves providing administrative, procedural, data, and operational support to ensure compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations. The associate will be responsible for managing HR data, analytics, and reporting, which are essential for informed decision-making and strategic planning within the organization. The role requires a proactive approach to support business partners in developing initiatives that enhance employee well-being and recognition, as well as managing change processes effectively. The associate will also assist in learning and capacity development initiatives, ensuring that the office's training needs are met and that stakeholders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support business partnering by developing initiatives to encourage employee well-being and recognition schemes, advising on HR process changes, and assisting clientele in using internal HR systems.
  • Manage HR data analytics by collecting and compiling HR-related data, analyzing trends and insights, and creating reports and presentations to communicate findings.
  • Process entitlements and benefits by verifying and compiling data on cases that do not conform to HR rules, responding to staff queries, and maintaining personnel records.
  • Assist in learning and capacity development by researching training opportunities, organizing courses and workshops, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF regulations.
  • Provide logistical and secretarial support for training events, ensuring all materials and venues are prepared and available for participants.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a computer engineering/science-related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with a secondary education and at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role may also qualify. Proficiency in data analytics and experience with data gathering tools such as Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and Tableau are mandatory. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills are essential, as well as familiarity with working in developing countries or emergency contexts, which is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates with a secondary education supplemented by technical or university courses related to the organization's work may also be considered if they have sufficient experience. Continuous professional development in HR-related fields is encouraged to keep up with best practices and innovations in the sector.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong emphasis on data management and HR analytics. Candidates with 6 years of progressively responsible experience in lieu of a university degree will also be considered. Experience in a developing country context or emergency settings is advantageous, as it provides insight into the unique challenges faced in such environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse workforce of UNICEF.
