The organization operates with a vision of a world where every vulnerable child and family has access to essential resources and equal opportunities for growth. VVC's core objectives include providing emergency support such as food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare, creating sustainable empowerment programs, promoting education and skills training, supporting community-driven development, and advocating for the well-being and protection of vulnerable individuals. VVC is committed to making a significant impact in the lives of those it serves, especially during the festive season when many families face harsh living conditions.
Job Overview: The position involves organizing and launching a Christmas charity fundraiser aimed at providing essential support to vulnerable children and families. The volunteer will play a crucial role in developing and executing an effective online fundraising campaign that communicates the organization's mission and engages potential donors. The goal is to raise resources necessary to provide warm clothing, food, medicines, daily necessities, and thoughtful Christmas gifts to those in need. The volunteer will be responsible for crafting a compelling fundraising message, setting up the online fundraiser, and promoting it across various platforms to reach a wide audience. This role is vital in ensuring that the spirit of Christmas—warmth, love, and giving—reaches those who need it most, and it directly impacts the well-being of hundreds of vulnerable individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The volunteer or team will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
Developing the Fundraiser Story: Crafting a compelling narrative that highlights the urgent need for warm clothing, food, medicines, essential items, and Christmas gifts.
Setting Up the Online Fundraiser: Creating the fundraiser on platforms such as GoFundMe, GlobalGiving, or JustGiving, and uploading visuals and content provided by the organization.
Designing Supporting Materials: Creating promotional materials for social media and other platforms, including posters and messages for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Implementing Campaign Strategy: Sharing the fundraiser link widely, engaging in outreach to potential donors, partners, and supporters.
Providing Regular Updates: Offering progress updates, suggestions for donor engagement, and advice on boosting visibility.
Reporting: Keeping track of raised funds, challenges, and feedback to the organization. Expected deliverables include a well-designed online fundraiser page, social media promotional materials, weekly campaign performance updates, donor thank-you messages, and a final report at the end of the campaign.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess skills in fundraising campaign creation, writing and storytelling, marketing and social media promotion, basic graphic design, and effective communication and donor engagement. The ability to work collaboratively and engage with diverse communities is essential. The candidate should also be passionate about supporting vulnerable populations and have a strong commitment to the mission of the organization.
Educational Background: While specific educational qualifications are not explicitly stated, a background in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field would be beneficial. Experience in fundraising or community outreach is also advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in fundraising campaign creation and marketing, with a proven track record of engaging supporters and promoting initiatives effectively. Experience in working with nonprofit organizations or community service projects is highly desirable, as it demonstrates an understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations and the importance of community support.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and materials will be developed in English. Additional languages may be beneficial, particularly those spoken within the communities served by the organization, to enhance outreach and engagement efforts.
Additional Notes: The campaign is expected to last between 4 to 8 weeks, with an immediate launch upon approval and a flexible end date based on donation flow, but no later than 31st December. The role is voluntary, and the online volunteers will not be directly asking for donations but will focus on promoting the initiative. Communication will be conducted via WhatsApp, Zoom calls, and email. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact during the holiday season while gaining experience in nonprofit fundraising and community engagement.
