Job Posting Organization: The Department of Operational Support (DOS) was established to provide comprehensive operational support and advisory services to various entities within the United Nations Secretariat. This includes departments, offices away from headquarters, peace operations, and regional commissions. Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to provide support to the Staffing Innovation team and the Non-Staff Capacities Unit within the Operational Support and Advisory Service (OSAS) of the Human Resources Services Division (HRSD). The intern will work closely with various teams, including the Inspira technical team and the Assessment and Innovation Section, contributing to significant projects aimed at modernizing and streamlining recruitment processes. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the workings of the United Nations while actively participating in initiatives that impact the organization's human resources operations. Interns will engage in various tasks, including assisting with training efforts, participating in change management initiatives, and supporting communication strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in human resources within an international context.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
Collaborating with the Inspira technical team and SIPI/NSCU in New York to contribute to the modernization of the Affiliate Personnel Recruitment Module.
Supporting the alignment between Staff and Affiliate Personnel recruitment modules.
Assisting in training efforts related to changes in the recruitment process for both Staff and Affiliate Personnel.
Participating in change management initiatives to facilitate smooth transitions in recruitment processes.
Drafting presentations and briefing materials, including one-pager information flyers, cheat sheets, quick guides, and creating training videos.
Supporting communication efforts by drafting articles for the HR Community of Practice.
Contributing to ongoing projects that integrate AI solutions based on user needs and organizational priorities.
Assisting in the optimization of recruitment processes by incorporating AI solutions into existing workflows and systems.
Conducting data analysis to monitor and evaluate project progress. 1
Documenting the outcomes of assigned projects and providing regular updates. 1
Supporting the Chief of the Assessments and Innovation Section and the Chief of Section Non-Staff Capacities Unit on special projects. 1
Assisting in the creation and editing of videos. 1

Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent). The organization is open to a broad range of educational backgrounds, with relevant coursework in fields such as Business Administration, Management, Strategic Communications and Design, Training and Development, Education, or Human Resources Management being essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate computer literacy in standard software applications, particularly SharePoint and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A keen interest in experimenting with AI tools is also required, along with good knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere being desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either being currently enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program. Relevant fields of study include Business Administration, Management, Strategic Communications and Design, Training and Development, Education, or Human Resources Management. This diverse educational requirement allows for a wide range of applicants to be considered, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the work involved in the internship.
Experience: The level of experience needed for this position is relatively flexible, as the internship is designed for students or recent graduates.
