Job Overview: The position of Individual Consultant for Digital Platform Development is aimed at supporting UNHCR in creating a digital platform specifically designed for potential beneficiaries of third-country complementary pathways. The consultant is expected to have a strong background in user research and testing methodologies, particularly in contexts related to displacement. The role involves conducting thorough research, strategic analysis, and community consultations to produce actionable recommendations that will inform the design and development of the digital platform. The consultant will engage with various stakeholders, including UNHCR staff, refugee-led organizations, and community members, ensuring that the final deliverables are user-centric and relevant to operational needs. The consultant will work closely with the Associate Protection Officer and collaborate with multiple teams within UNHCR, including Protection, Durable Solutions, Digital Innovation, and Community-Based Protection. Regular check-ins will be scheduled to monitor progress and align with operational requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for conducting user research and testing methodologies to gather insights from potential beneficiaries. This includes strategic analysis and community consultations to generate evidence-based recommendations. The consultant will produce high-quality deliverables, including legal mapping, solutions mapping, tools mapping, stakeholders mapping, community and stakeholders survey report, risk assessment, and a final report. The consultant will also be required to provide bi-weekly progress reports and monthly summaries to track the progress of the consultancy. The role demands collaboration with UNHCR staff and relevant partners to ensure that the outputs meet the operational needs and are finalized based on internal feedback.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess demonstrated experience in user research and testing methodologies, particularly in displacement contexts. Strong knowledge of community dynamics within Pakistan is essential, along with prior experience in complementary pathways programming. The consultant should have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including refugee-led organizations and community members.
Educational Background: A Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication or a related field is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively conduct research and engage with communities.
Experience: The consultant should have a proven track record of working in similar roles, particularly in user research and testing methodologies. Experience in displacement contexts and familiarity with complementary pathways programming is highly desirable. The role requires a consultant who can demonstrate their ability to produce high-quality, user-centric deliverables based on community insights and operational needs.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English. Additionally, knowledge of Dari and Pashto is considered desirable, as it will facilitate better communication with local communities and stakeholders.
