Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director, Giving Pledge will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership and support to the Giving Pledge team, which is focused on enhancing the impact and engagement of its global community of philanthropists. This position involves setting the long-term vision for the Giving Pledge, ensuring that it aligns with the needs of its members and the broader philanthropic landscape. The Deputy Director will oversee program and operational aspects, ensuring quality and coherence in relationship management and community engagement. The role also includes external representation of the Giving Pledge, building trust with key stakeholders, and cultivating relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and philanthropic partners. The Deputy Director will lead a team dedicated to advancing the Giving Pledge community and will be responsible for measuring and tracking the impact of strategies to refine and strengthen the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and evolve the long-term strategy for the Giving Pledge in alignment with community needs and sector trends.
Ensure operational excellence across relationship management, community engagement, and key initiatives.
Represent the Giving Pledge externally, fostering trust and collaboration with Pledgers, Next Gen, Senior Staff, and philanthropic partners.
Build and maintain high-trust relationships with collaborators to enhance the impact of the Giving Pledge.
Oversee outreach to prospective members and activate existing member networks.
Define and track the impact of strategies, utilizing data to refine approaches.
Serve as a thought leader in the field of ultra-high-net-worth philanthropy, providing insights to internal and external partners.
Collaborate with the Philanthropic Partnerships team and contribute to shared priorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and have at least 12 years of experience in leading complex philanthropic initiatives involving high-net-worth individuals. They should demonstrate exceptional management skills and visionary leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of thought leadership in networked initiatives. A deep understanding of relationship management and the ability to interact effectively with accomplished philanthropists is essential. Candidates should be adaptable, creative, goal-focused, and possess strong analytical and decision-making skills. They must also have a comprehensive understanding of philanthropy, including impact, collaboration, governance, and the challenges of large-scale giving, along with awareness of emerging trends in the sector. Outstanding communication skills and discretion in handling sensitive information are crucial.
