Job Overview:
The Operations Manager at UNICEF Greece Country Office will serve as a Strategic Business Partner, responsible for overseeing operations functions and facilitating organizational change. This role is crucial during the transition period as the office prepares to phase out standalone programming by the end of 2026 and integrate into a Multi-Country Office structure. The Operations Manager will ensure the efficient use of resources, uphold management practices, and align operational strategies with organizational goals to deliver results for children. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing creative solutions, as well as providing risk-informed analysis and advice to support program and management decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: facilitating operations support services in budget management, financial reporting, facilities management, administration, supply and logistics management, information technology, human resources, and safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security; supporting career development opportunities for staff; representing organizational risks and governance systems in management teams; anticipating business needs and proposing solutions; contributing to various planning and management processes; promoting ICT management and information security; overseeing supply chain management; supporting audit reviews and implementing recommendations; leading facility management with a focus on accessibility and sustainability; and monitoring business transactions for efficiency and risk management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an Advanced University Degree (Master’s or higher) in relevant fields such as Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance, or related operations functions. A full professional accounting designation from a recognized institute is also acceptable. A certificate in Change Management is considered a strong asset. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in operations management areas, including budget and financial management, facilities management, and human resources. Experience in supporting offices during transitions and leading change management initiatives is highly desirable, along with familiarity with Results Based Management and corporate ERPs.

Educational Background:
An Advanced University Degree (Master’s and above) in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance, or related fields is required. Alternatively, a full professional accounting designation from an internationally recognized body is acceptable. A certificate in Change Management is a strong asset, particularly relevant to the organizational transition context.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience at the national or international level is required, specifically in operations management areas. Experience in implementing organizational initiatives, supporting offices in transition, and leading change management initiatives is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UN system, large private or public companies, and experience in developing countries or humanitarian contexts is an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Greek is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills in both languages to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
