Job Overview:
The position of Individual Specialist is crucial within the framework of UNESCO's Communication and Information (CI) programme. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Individual Specialist will undertake a variety of responsibilities under the supervision of the Regional Director and the Adviser for Communication and Information. Key duties include supporting the implementation of the Japanese Funds-in-Trust project focused on glass plate photography collections, organizing consultative meetings, preparing project implementation plans, developing preservation guidelines, and engaging with partners and stakeholders. The specialist will also contribute to the UNESCO Memory of the World programme by coordinating nominations and organizing meetings. Additional responsibilities include planning activities related to the International Decade on Indigenous Languages, exploring new partnerships for funding, assisting in the planning of publications, and submitting regular reports on project progress. The role may require travel for missions related to project implementation, with specific deliverables and timelines outlined for reporting and assessment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in fields such as history, archaeology, humanities, social sciences, or related areas. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in heritage documentary fields is required, with at least five years at the regional or international level. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of Asia-Pacific heritage archives, media, and literacy issues, along with proven conceptual and analytical skills.
