Job Overview:
The Program Officer position is designed to provide comprehensive administrative assistance and support to various projects within the organization. This role involves collecting, compiling, and analyzing information relevant to project management, which includes updating manuals, assisting with proposals, and processing complex paperwork. The Program Officer will also be responsible for monitoring project budgets, creating and reviewing work plans, and coordinating with technical teams to ensure project objectives are met. The role varies depending on the organizational location, with Program Officers in Business Units primarily supporting global awards and business development, while those in Regional Offices focus on managing country-specific projects. Embedded Program Officers will directly implement and deliver project outcomes. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties including: collaborating with project management teams to ensure project needs are met; providing administrative support such as planning meetings, arranging travel, and managing project calendars; collecting and analyzing data for reports; maintaining project files; facilitating communication with partners; assisting in the management of project budgets; and supporting grant proposal coordination. Additional responsibilities include conducting research to achieve project goals, reviewing work plans, and fulfilling other administrative duties as assigned. The Program Officer will also be expected to contribute to high-quality deliverables for clients and ensure that all project-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to problem-solve effectively. A basic understanding of project design concepts and practices is essential, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to articulate professionally and communicate positively with clients and staff is crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies as needed.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in fields such as Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of project management and implementation.

Experience:
Typically, candidates should have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience supporting projects or technical practice areas. Experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is also advantageous, as it is commonly used in project management tasks.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with the ability to read, write, and speak the language proficiently. Additionally, fluency in the host country language may be required depending on the specific project and location.

Additional Notes:
This position may require travel of approximately 10% to 25%. The expected salary range for this role in the United States is between USD 50,000 and 66,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
