Job Overview: The Fitness Instructor position at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is designed to provide specialized support services that ensure the smooth functioning of the UN Events & Wellness Centre (UNEWC). This role is pivotal in delivering professional fitness activities to UN staff members and select members of the diplomatic community. The instructor will be responsible for coaching, teaching fitness classes, designing tailored fitness programs, and facilitating events that promote wellness. Duties and Responsibilities: The Fitness Instructor will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include: assisting in the development of outreach initiatives and marketing materials; conducting group fitness classes and personal training sessions; designing and implementing fitness programs tailored to various fitness levels; providing guidance on proper exercise techniques and safety; motivating participants to achieve their fitness goals; conducting assessments to track progress; handling nutrition and health-related inquiries; ensuring compliance with health and safety standards; maintaining accurate records of attendance; providing exceptional customer service; staying current with industry trends and certifications; planning and facilitating fitness-related events and workshops; coordinating with the events team for logistics and promotion; and gathering feedback to improve future programs and events.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a High School Certificate and a certificate in fitness from recognized organizations such as ACE or ITEC. A minimum of one year of experience in a reputable organization or setting is required, along with thorough knowledge of fitness services, products, and equipment. Proven experience in CPR and First Aid is desirable, highlighting the importance of safety in fitness instruction.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a High School Certificate as a minimum qualification.
