Job Overview: The Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor position at the United Nations Wellness Centre involves providing professional lifeguarding services and swimming instruction to members and guests. The role is critical in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of clients while promoting a healthy lifestyle through swimming and fitness activities. The incumbent will work closely with the UNWC Manager and the Head Instructor to create an engaging and safe environment for all participants. The Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor will also be responsible for maintaining the facility's safety standards and cleanliness, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's operational procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the development of outreach initiatives and marketing materials to promote swimming programs; providing professional lifeguarding services to ensure the safety of all members and guests in the swimming pool; maintaining constant surveillance of pool activities and responding promptly to emergencies; administering first aid and care as necessary until emergency medical services arrive; presenting a professional demeanor and maintaining high customer service standards; performing maintenance duties to keep the facility clean and safe; conducting swimming lessons for both members and non-members; ensuring accurate reservation of swimming lesson bookings by administrative staff; promoting swimming lessons to increase participation and sales; keeping detailed records of services rendered and maintaining a client database; advising clients on swimming-related inquiries; and performing other related duties as required to support the Wellness Centre's operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a High School Certificate or Diploma, along with a Certificate in swimming training and lifeguarding. Certification in CPR and first aid is mandatory. Additionally, a Diploma or Certificate in lifeguarding and swimming instruction or related qualifications is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to safety and customer service, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and promote wellness activities.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a High School Certificate or Diploma, complemented by specialized training in swimming and lifeguarding. Candidates should have relevant certifications that validate their skills and knowledge in providing swimming instruction and lifeguarding services.
