Job Overview: The position of Special Class Instructors at the UN Wellness Centre involves providing specialized fitness instruction to members and guests of the United Nations Recreation Centre. The role is designed to enhance the overall wellness experience of clients by offering a variety of fitness classes, including Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, and Tai Chi. Instructors will be responsible for creating engaging and effective fitness programs that cater to the diverse needs of the UN community. The role requires a proactive approach to client engagement, marketing fitness classes, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all participants. Instructors will report directly to the UNWC Manager and are expected to contribute to the overall excellence of the fitness center.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Special Class Instructors include:
Developing outreach initiatives and marketing materials to promote fitness classes and engage clients.
Teaching a variety of specialized fitness classes such as Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, and Tai Chi.
Preparing exercise classes and ensuring that the studio and aerobics room are clean and ready for client use.
Promoting fitness classes to both members and non-members to increase or sustain membership levels.
Maintaining a client database or profile for reference and follow-up.
Advising clients on health and fitness-related matters to support their wellness journey.
Performing other related duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the Wellness Centre.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the position include:
A High School Certificate is mandatory.
A certification in one or more of the following fitness disciplines: Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics is essential.
Knowledge of fitness products and equipment is required to effectively instruct clients and ensure safety during classes.
Strong communication skills to engage with clients and promote classes effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a High School Certificate as a minimum educational requirement. Additionally, certifications in various fitness disciplines such as Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics are essential to demonstrate expertise in the respective areas of instruction.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching fitness classes from a reputable organization or setting is required. This experience should encompass a range of fitness disciplines, ensuring that the instructor is well-versed in various teaching methodologies and can cater to diverse client needs.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication with clients and for delivering instructions clearly during fitness classes.
