Job Overview: The Strategy Officer will play a crucial role in leading high-impact projects in collaboration with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Diagnostics and other key partners. This position is integral to the Diagnostics team, focusing on the development and implementation of strategies that enhance health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The Strategy Officer will be responsible for scoping and designing the overall strategy development process, leading multiple workstreams, and employing strategic resources to assess options and challenge assumptions. The role requires effective communication and relationship management skills to engage partners and facilitate change management. The Strategy Officer will also contribute to the identification and implementation of research and analytical work to support decision-making processes, ensuring that the strategies developed are data-driven and impactful. This position is designed for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about addressing complex global health challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Strategy Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Scoping and designing the overall strategy development process for diagnostics.
Leading strategy development as the primary accountable party for multiple workstreams.
Employing strategic resources to develop and assess options, applying sound reasoning, and challenging assumptions.
Consulting closely with team members and cross-matrix partners to co-develop and evaluate strategy concepts and facilitate change management.
Engaging partners using effective communication and relationship management skills.
Supporting the implementation of creative solutions to guide group processes, including managing conflict and encouraging alignment.
Contributing to the identification and implementation of research and analytical work to support resolution-making, including statistical analyses and collaboration with third parties.
Regularly contributing to team development activities such as vision and goal refinement, professional development, training, recruiting, onboarding, and team social events.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong ability to work on complex problems and collaboratively craft strategies that can transform lives. They should demonstrate proficiency in structured problem-solving and strategic business planning, with the ability to communicate frameworks effectively. A broad understanding of global health and development issues, along with some relevant experience, is desired. Candidates should have deep knowledge of strategy development and complex project management, including process design and stakeholder engagement. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet demanding timelines is essential. Candidates must also be comfortable in ambiguous situations and possess excellent organizational, facilitation, oral, and written communication skills.
Educational Background: A minimum of an MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, or Sciences is desired. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of global health and strategic planning.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience, with at least three years in strategic planning functions leading projects at a top-tier strategy consulting firm. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the intricacies of strategy development and implementation in a global health context.
