Job Overview: The Audience Engagement Officer will play a crucial role within the Philanthropic Partnerships Team (PPT) by engaging and inspiring key partners, including individual donors and institutional philanthropies, to support global health and development priorities. The position focuses on effectively communicating PPT's work and giving opportunities to donor audiences, coordinating communications, and ensuring a consistent and strategic voice across various channels. The Officer will be responsible for marketing global health and development giving opportunities, enhancing outreach to PPT's audiences, and supporting engagement efforts within the Giving Pledge and related donor communities. This role requires a blend of marketing strategy, content coordination, and project management to ensure that communications and events are well-planned, audience-driven, and aligned with the foundation's broader storytelling efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Audience Engagement Officer will be tasked with developing and executing marketing plans to promote PPT's giving vehicles, such as Gates Philanthropy Partners, and other donor-facing collaborative giving opportunities. This includes managing relationships with creative, digital, and production partners to ensure timely and high-quality execution of campaigns and materials. The Officer will track the performance and impact of marketing and engagement activities, using insights to refine strategies and enhance PPT's reach. Additionally, the Officer will collaborate with the PPT Communications Officer and program teams to create compelling materials that assist relationship managers in engaging partners effectively. They will ensure that PPT's messaging and collateral maintain a consistent tone and branding, develop a library of reusable assets, and coordinate PPT's participation in key public events, aligning the foundation's presence with strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or communications within a nonprofit or philanthropic context. They should have experience leading integrated marketing campaigns targeted at donor audiences and a proven ability to manage external vendors, including editors, designers, and web developers. Strong project management skills are essential, with the ability to develop and manage structured project plans that support coordination across functions. Candidates should demonstrate strong written communication skills, particularly in managing sensitive communications for high-profile stakeholders, and should be adept at working independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Experience in global health or development and familiarity with technical vendors and digital tools used in marketing and communications are preferred but not required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required for this position. The educational background should ideally be in a field related to marketing, communications, or a relevant area that supports the functions of the role.

The salary range for this position is between $140,200 and $210,200 USD, with adjustments made for high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C. New hires typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on their skills and experience as evaluated during the interview process.
