Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Future Space Transportation team of the ESA Directorate of Space Transportation. This team is responsible for the maturation of technologies and capabilities necessary for future space transportation systems. The intern will provide technical project support specifically in the reusability section of the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP). The role will involve conducting system studies, supporting technology assessments, and preparing new elements for the FLPP. The intern will also engage in business intelligence activities related to reusable launch systems, conduct surveys, and assist in organizing events. The position is designed for university students, preferably at the master's level, who are eager to contribute to the advancement of space transportation technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be tasked with providing technical project support in the reusability section of the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme. Key responsibilities include conducting business intelligence on reusable launch systems, synthesizing information on various systems from different countries, and performing a global space transportation survey. The intern will also support the BEST! Initiative by preparing for open calls and organizing events, assist the Access to Space Club with event organization, identify best practices for procurement actions, and contribute to knowledge management processes within the FLPP. Additionally, the intern will work on standardizing project management processes and creating efficient management tools.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be university students, preferably enrolled in a master's program. They should demonstrate a strong interest in space transportation and propulsion technologies. A good command of English or French is mandatory, and knowledge of another ESA Member State language is considered an asset. Candidates should also possess knowledge of Technology Readiness Levels and project life cycles, as well as an understanding of the space transportation industry.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be a university student, preferably at the master's level, and must be able to provide proof of enrollment for the entire duration of the internship. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern can engage with the technical aspects of the role effectively.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates with knowledge and background in space, particularly in space transportation vehicles and propulsion, will be favored. Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels and project life cycles will also enhance a candidate's suitability for the position.

Languages:
The working languages of the European Space Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these languages is required for the position. Additionally, knowledge of another language from an ESA Member State is considered an asset, which can further enhance communication and collaboration within the international team.
