Job Overview: The Humanitarian Representation Team (HRT) plays a crucial role in enhancing MSF’s ability to understand and influence the actions of external stakeholders to protect MSF’s operational space and advocate for needs-based humanitarian action. The HRT supports MSF operations by linking and engaging with a diverse range of external networks, including governments, multilateral institutions, humanitarian organizations, and civil society. The Humanitarian Representative Network Coordinator and Information Manager will be responsible for ensuring internal coherence, coordination, and strategic alignment within the HRT team, while also being available for deployments to support country programs and on-the-ground engagement as needed. This position requires a proactive approach to managing relationships and facilitating communication among various stakeholders to amplify MSF’s representation and advocacy efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall Coordination and Organisation: Act as the focal point for the HRT network, managing and supporting the organization and coherence of the network in alignment with HRT’s strategic direction.
Enhance Collaboration: Facilitate effective information flow and coordinated actions among HRT representatives, ensuring structured engagement and improving the efficiency of escalation strategies.
Network Monitoring: Monitor and raise awareness of HRT network profiles, initiatives, and expertise, promoting synergies between network members and regional working groups.
Liaison with MSF Access: Establish collaboration between HRT and MSF Access teams, identifying shared priorities and facilitating information exchange.
Day-to-Day Support: Provide guidance and advice to network members on key developments as requested.
Analysis and Information Sharing: Draft reports, internal updates, and policy briefs to support strategic reflection and operational transparency.
Maintain Internal Communications Tools: Oversee tools such as SharePoint and the HRT Library.
Team Support: Assist with HR-related follow-up, onboarding of new staff, budget management, and provide back-up support for key meetings and events.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage complex networks and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders. They should have experience in humanitarian contexts and a deep understanding of MSF’s mission and values. Proficiency in project management and reporting systems is essential, along with the ability to analyze and synthesize information effectively. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
Educational Background: A degree in international relations, humanitarian studies, public health, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian action or advocacy will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the humanitarian landscape and the challenges faced by organizations like MSF.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian coordination, advocacy, or information management. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in a humanitarian context, is highly desirable. Proven track record in managing networks and facilitating communication among diverse stakeholders is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in French or Spanish considered a strong asset. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to MSF operations will be advantageous.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time, fixed-term position with a duration of 12 months, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application. Compensation and benefits will be based on MSF's current practices in the respective entity.
