Job Overview: The People & Culture (P&C) Learning and Development team within the Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) is seeking a consultant who will blend technical and coordination responsibilities. This role is crucial for managing and executing learning and development activities, including workshops and training sessions, while also engaging in data analytics to support HR functions. The consultant will work closely with a team of learning professionals and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of training programs and effective communication of data insights. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to UNICEF's mission by enhancing the learning experiences of staff and improving data-driven decision-making processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will take full ownership of several key areas:
Learning & Development Production & Coordination: This includes leading the technical execution of workshops, retreats, and webinars, managing training activities, and ensuring effective communication with facilitators and participants. Responsibilities also involve moderating training sessions, coordinating logistics, and managing post-training evaluations.
People & Culture Data Analytics: The consultant will gather, clean, analyze, and visualize data related to learning and development and other P&C functions. This includes presenting data insights through reports and dashboards for various audiences.
Knowledge Management: The consultant will oversee the PFP training calendar, draft communication materials, and maintain the L&D SharePoint site, ensuring that all resources are organized and accessible. The consultant will also be responsible for responding to staff queries and ensuring that all training materials are prepared and available in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, organizational development, data science, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience will be accepted. Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in administration, human resources, training, or knowledge management, with a strong background in events coordination and data analytics. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential, and experience with online training production is required. Familiarity with UNICEF's operations and values is an asset.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Master's degree or higher) in relevant fields such as human resource management, business management, international relations, organizational development, or data science is highly desirable. A first-level university degree combined with relevant experience may also be considered. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of human resources and data analytics within the context of UNICEF's mission.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in relevant fields, including administration, human resources, training, or knowledge management. Experience in coordinating events, both in-person and virtual, is required. Additionally, hands-on experience in online training production using platforms like Zoom or Teams is essential. Familiarity with data analytics and the ability to interpret and visualize data effectively is highly desirable, as is experience working within the UN system or with UNICEF specifically.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within UNICEF. A working knowledge of French is highly desirable, given the organization's international scope and the need to communicate with diverse stakeholders across different regions.
Additional Notes: The consultancy contract will be based on the successful completion of deliverables, with payment made upon submission of an invoice. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if performance is unsatisfactory or if deliverables are incomplete. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance.
