Job Overview:
The Digital Data Analytics Specialist position within UNICEF's Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) section is focused on enhancing digital fundraising efforts across various regions including ESA, ECA, LAC, EAP, and WCA. The role is integral to the implementation of UNICEF's Digital Strategy, emphasizing the importance of data accuracy and actionable insights for digital fundraising teams. The specialist will be responsible for web analytics, data integration, and reporting, utilizing platforms such as GA4 and Google Cloud. This position aims to improve digital performance through robust data analytics, testing, and optimization of digital activities, ultimately supporting the acquisition and retention of donors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will support markets with digital data integration and reporting, ensuring accurate data collection and validation using tools like GTM and GA
  • Responsibilities include generating actionable insights, supporting testing roadmaps, increasing local capacity in GA4 and CRO testing, and ensuring alignment with global data governance standards. The specialist will customize and implement UNICEF’s global data products, enable advanced cloud-based automation, and combine data sources to optimize fundraising efforts. Specific deliverables include implementing global naming conventions, launching data pipelines for automated integration, and maintaining dashboard solutions that integrate various data sources to track KPIs effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in digital analysis or a similar role, with a strong focus on digital performance. Proven expertise in Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Cloud Platform is essential, along with demonstrated SQL skills for data integration. The ability to build dashboards in Looker Studio or similar tools is required, as well as experience in troubleshooting data collection issues. Strong communication skills are necessary to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences, and familiarity with UTM tracking and digital governance frameworks is preferred.

Educational Background:
An Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or higher) in relevant fields such as Economics, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or Mathematics is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in roles focused on digital analysis and performance. Candidates should have hands-on experience with digital data to derive actionable insights that support marketing performance, as well as experience in conducting A/B testing and statistical analysis.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a diverse work environment.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy contract will be governed by UNICEF's General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. Payment will be based on the submission of deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if performance is unsatisfactory. Candidates must ensure their visa and health insurance are valid for the contract duration. Selected candidates are also required to confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this does not apply to remote consultants.
