Job Overview: The position of Driver/Clerk is integral to the successful implementation of the 'Strengthening social inclusion and nutrition in Timor-Leste' programme, which is funded by the European Union. This programme aims to support the Government of Timor-Leste in fostering sustainable development and enhancing social inclusion, particularly for vulnerable workers in the informal economy. The Driver/Clerk will be responsible for providing safe and reliable driving services, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the proper maintenance of vehicles. The role requires a proactive approach to facilitate the smooth operation of the programme, including driving to various districts as directed by supervisors and supporting the Programme Manager and other staff in their daily activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver/Clerk will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Providing safe and reliable driving services for officials and visitors, ensuring adherence to all driving regulations.
Meeting officials and visitors at the airport and assisting with protocol, visa, and customs formalities as necessary.
Delivering and collecting mail, documents, and other items as required.
Maintaining accurate vehicle logs and preparing vehicle maintenance plans to ensure cost savings and proper vehicle use.
Conducting day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles, including minor repairs and arranging for major repairs, ensuring vehicles are clean and in good running condition.
Ensuring all required documents and supplies are available in the vehicle, including insurance, registration, and emergency equipment.
Following proper procedures in case of accidents and informing supervisors of vehicle registrations and insurance updates.
Assisting office staff with filing, photocopying, and maintaining stores, as well as handling office errands.
Performing other relevant duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Completion of secondary school education.
A valid and clean driving license.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, along with skills in minor vehicle repairs.
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience with a proven safe driving record.
Experience driving for a UN agency, diplomatic, or international organization is highly desirable.
