Job Overview:
The Grants and Partnership Manager at NRC Kenya plays a crucial role in leading fundraising efforts, managing grants, and fostering strategic partnerships. This position is responsible for identifying donor opportunities, engaging with donors, and overseeing the preparation, administration, and reporting of grants. The successful candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at ensuring the sustainability and quality of NRC's programs. Additionally, the role involves managing NRC's partnership processes as outlined in the partnership strategy, which includes proposal development, contracting, and providing implementation support. The Grants and Partnership Manager will serve as a key liaison between NRC and partner organizations, ensuring effective grants management across all projects while adhering to internal and donor requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to compliance, timely reporting, and coordination of key activities under NRC's Project Cycle Management framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants and Partnership Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: ensuring compliance with NRC's Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework, maintaining an overview of all grants in Kenya, and ensuring that grants management information is up-to-date. The manager will track donor priorities and share relevant calls for proposals, acting as an internal helpdesk for donor-related issues and partnerships. They will set up and continuously improve internal grant management systems and partnership processes, providing technical support to partners and involving other program/support colleagues as necessary. The manager will represent NRC with relevant partners and donors, support the Head of Programme in identifying and assessing partners, and develop capacity-building plans. They will also conduct due diligence and transfer relevant NRC experience and tools to partners. The role includes administrative and technical line management of the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator and Consortium Management Coordinator, ensuring performance management in accordance with NRC policies. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Head of Programmes as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in donor relations and grants management within a relevant context, such as working with institutional humanitarian and development donors. A strong understanding of institutional donors' rules, regulations, priorities, and compliance requirements is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in report and proposal development, as well as experience working with multiple donors and consortia. Strong planning and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to coordinate inputs from various stakeholders to meet deadlines for proposals, budgets, and reporting. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of colleagues are crucial. Cultural awareness and sensitivity are also important, as is proficiency in computing skills, including Microsoft Office and online/cloud-based information management systems. Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English are required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background, typically a degree in a field related to international development, humanitarian assistance, or a similar area. Advanced degrees or specialized training in grants management, fundraising, or partnership development may be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in managing donor relations and grants within complex and volatile contexts, with a preference for those who have worked with displaced populations. Experience in capacity building and training staff in grants management and partnerships is also highly valued. The ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision is essential, as is the willingness to travel to field offices and work in challenging environments as required.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the populations served by NRC in Kenya.
