Job Overview: The Global Health Division of the organization aims to leverage advancements in science and technology to save lives in developing countries. The division collaborates with partners to deliver effective tools and diagnostics while also innovating new solutions that are both affordable and reliable. The Integrated Development (IDev) team operates within this division and supports various teams across Global Health, Global Development, and Gender Equality Divisions. The team specializes in regulatory affairs, chemistry manufacturing and controls, clinical trial design, and integrated development expertise, which encompasses pharmacology, big data, and artificial intelligence. The Program Officer role is crucial in supporting the GHIDE domain, which adopts a proactive and holistic approach to assist Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) in reviewing product development plans and recommending strategies to enhance registration and access, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The position involves managing a portfolio of investments and ensuring that new data from partners and projects is effectively captured and analyzed to inform decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Officer will be responsible for comprehensive project management, ensuring alignment across programmatic and technical teams. Key responsibilities include compiling and analyzing data from grants and contracts to inform decision-making, managing activities related to strategic planning and investment development, and coordinating efforts across regional and country offices. The officer will also consult with grantees to ensure the desired impact of grants, draft key documents and reports for diverse audiences, and serve as a liaison between subject matter experts and senior program officers. Additionally, the officer will facilitate the integration of technical feedback into grant management processes and support an inclusive culture within the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with programmatic experience in infectious diseases, maternal and child health, or sexual and reproductive health, ideally within international public health contexts. A strong background in data analysis or statistical analysis is essential, along with experience in managing complex projects across multiple teams. Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills, excellent writing and verbal communication abilities, and familiarity with drug and product development processes. Experience with artificial intelligence tools in professional settings is also desirable, as is an understanding of Model-Informed Drug Development principles.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who have relevant experience in public health or related fields. Additional certifications or training in project management, data analysis, or public health may be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have programmatic experience in relevant health fields, ideally with a focus on international public health. Experience managing complex projects and familiarity with data analysis methodologies are crucial. The role may also benefit from candidates who have worked in or supported country or regional offices in health initiatives.
