Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will participate in several activities within the Knowledge & Development unit. Your responsibilities may include: developing survey designs, collecting and analyzing data, assisting with focus group interviews, contributing to professional notes and publications, conducting literature reviews, and supporting the planning and execution of internal and external meetings and professional events. You will also have the opportunity to take on a larger independent project that aligns with your interests and skills, allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to DRC's mission.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be pursuing a relevant academic degree at the master's level, demonstrating strong skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods. Excellent written communication skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in refugee issues and integration processes in Denmark. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, is crucial for success in this role. Additionally, all employees at DRC are expected to embody the organization's core competencies, which include Quality, Collaboration, Accountability, Communication, and Integrity.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a master's program related to social sciences, international relations, or a similar field that provides a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of refugee and integration issues. Experience: While prior experience in the refugee sector is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects that demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian work and an understanding of integration challenges will be considered advantageous. The internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the field, regardless of their previous experience level.
Languages: The primary working language for this internship is Danish, thus proficiency in Danish is mandatory. Knowledge of English is also beneficial, as it may be required for certain tasks and communications within the organization. Additional language skills relevant to the refugee population in Denmark would be considered a plus.
Additional Notes: This internship is offered for a duration of 4-6 months, with flexibility to accommodate academic requirements. The expected start date is February 1, 2026, with a weekly commitment of approximately 30-37 hours, subject to further discussions regarding study obligations. The internship is unpaid, but interns will receive 2.08 unpaid vacation days per month, which can be used as accrued or accumulated. Additionally, interns will have access to free lunch in the office canteen, contingent upon its operational status. Travel within Denmark may be required as part of the internship duties.
