Job Overview:
The role of the SEO/GEO Content Consultant is crucial for enhancing the visibility and accessibility of UNICEF's Parenting Hub across traditional search engines and AI platforms. This position is designed to support UNICEF during a transitional phase characterized by limited staffing and significant technological advancements. The consultant will be responsible for conducting keyword research, optimizing existing content, and creating new content that aligns with SEO best practices. The consultant will work closely with the Web Editorial team to ensure that the content produced is engaging, useful, and easily discoverable by the target audience. The ultimate goal is to support UNICEF's digital objectives and grant deliverables by ensuring that the Parenting Hub remains relevant and accessible to its users.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will include conducting keyword research to identify valuable search terms, analyzing existing content for optimization opportunities, and creating engaging content types such as articles and expert interviews. The consultant will also be responsible for liaising with UNICEF focal points for content approval, building content in UNICEF's Drupal CMS, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF's Writing Style Guide. Additionally, the consultant will track and analyze performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and SemRush, produce analytics reports, and prepare quarterly updates on emerging trends in generative search. The consultant will also be tasked with maintaining detailed documentation and preparing a comprehensive final handover package to ensure continuity after the consultancy period.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field. They should have at least five years of professional experience in web content creation, particularly with a focus on SEO. Familiarity with the Drupal content management system is essential, as is experience in developing content for a non-expert audience, ideally targeting parents and caregivers. The consultant should have advanced writing and editorial skills for digital platforms and a strong understanding of content strategy, SEO best practices, and online publishing workflows. Proficiency with web analytics and SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Semrush, and Siteimprove is also required.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field is required for this position.
