Job Overview:
The position of EAM Business Analyst within CERN's Engineering Department's Information Management group is designed for an early-career engineer who has initial experience as a business analyst or application engineer. The role is pivotal in supporting, enhancing, and digitalizing CERN's Asset and Maintenance Management processes through the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Service. The EAM platform, based on the commercial product HxGN EAM, is crucial for managing CERN's accelerator complex and technical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and IT professionals, gaining insights into the operational needs of the organization while contributing to the development of digital tools that facilitate world-class scientific research. This role not only offers a chance to learn about CERN's technical infrastructure but also to engage in meaningful projects that have a direct impact on scientific advancements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The EAM Business Analyst will be responsible for providing day-to-day functional support to users of CERN's EAM platform, addressing inquiries and incidents in collaboration with the service team. The role involves acting as a liaison between users and developers, gathering and translating business needs into clear functional requirements. The analyst will analyze and document processes related to asset and maintenance management, propose improvements, and support system evolution. Additionally, the position requires testing and validating new features and updates to ensure quality and alignment with user expectations. The analyst will also prepare and maintain user guides and training materials to promote consistent use of the EAM system across CERN.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess experience and/or strong knowledge in IT systems support, business analysis, and/or process improvement. Familiarity with enterprise or business applications such as ERP or EAM is essential. The role requires experience in a user-facing or coordination role, where supporting and collecting feedback from end-users is crucial. Exposure to testing, documentation, or training activities is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of business processes and the ability to translate them into system requirements is necessary, along with basic knowledge of databases, web applications, or integration concepts. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, an analytical mindset, and attention to detail when investigating or documenting issues. A willingness to learn new tools and technologies in a complex technical environment is also required.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field. It is important that applicants have graduated within the last two years to meet the eligibility criteria for this position. Those without a university degree or with a PhD are not eligible to apply.

Experience:
Candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation. This experience should be relevant to the fields of information technology, business analysis, or application engineering, ensuring that the applicant is well-prepared to take on the responsibilities of the EAM Business Analyst role.

Languages:
Proficiency in spoken and written English or French is mandatory, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication within the diverse environment at CERN.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months. The working hours are set at 40 hours per week, and the job offers flexibility with a hybrid working model. The target start date for the position is February 1, 202

Compensation includes a monthly stipend ranging between 5196 and 5716 Swiss Francs (net of tax), coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme, and membership in the CERN Pension Fund. Additional benefits may include an installation grant, family allowances, and travel expense payments at the beginning and end of the contract. Employees are entitled to 30 days of paid leave per year, along with opportunities for on-the-job and formal training at CERN, including in-house language courses.
