Job Overview: The Associate Director, Head of Banking and Treasury FP&A, plays a crucial role in leading the finance business partnering engagement for Banking and Treasury. This position involves overseeing financial planning, business analysis, direct cost management, and management reporting. The incumbent will engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and senior business leaders, to promote sound financial management practices. The role is pivotal in ensuring financial sustainability and involves the coordination of the Bank's three-year Strategy Implementation Plan and annual budget, which are critical for the organization's financial health. The position requires a strategic mindset to translate objectives into actionable financial plans and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the Bank's overall strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Director will be responsible for leading the annual strategy implementation planning process for Banking & Treasury, translating strategic objectives into a comprehensive three-year business and financial plan. This includes developing and coordinating the overall planning and forecasting processes, engaging with senior leaders to support workforce planning and strategic initiatives. The role also involves establishing insightful financial and business performance analytics to aid decision-making, optimizing profitability, and managing costs effectively. The incumbent will lead the continuous improvement of reporting processes, ensuring quality management information is provided to key stakeholders. Additionally, the Associate Director will manage a team of four, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and effective business partnering to support long-term financial sustainability.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent experience, along with being a qualified accountant or CFA qualified with significant post-qualification experience. Extensive stakeholder management skills are essential, particularly in influencing and negotiating at senior levels. A proven track record in managing a business partnering function, along with strong engagement and coaching skills, is required. Candidates should have practical experience in P&L drivers and FP&A within financial services, as well as strong financial modeling skills and familiarity with financial systems. Project management skills and the ability to work independently while balancing competing priorities are also necessary.
Educational Background: A relevant Master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required. Candidates should also have professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA, which demonstrate their expertise in financial management and analysis.
Experience: The position requires extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, particularly within the banking or financial services sector. Candidates should have a strong background in managing financial performance and business partnering, with a focus on P&L management. Experience in leading teams and engaging with senior management is essential, as well as a demonstrated ability to implement financial strategies effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to engage diverse audiences and gain support for ideas is crucial. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract lasting 12 months. The role is based in London, United Kingdom, and involves a hybrid working model, with an expectation for employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
