Job Overview:
The AI Community Manager will play a crucial role in UNICEF's Global AI Hub, focusing on enhancing the distribution of AI-related guidance and fostering a collaborative network of AI experts and practitioners. This position requires the individual to engage with various stakeholders across UNICEF's headquarters, regional, and country offices. The manager will be responsible for community engagement, knowledge management, and event management, ensuring that AI initiatives are effectively communicated and that best practices are shared across the organization. The role emphasizes the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and storytelling to amplify UNICEF's AI initiatives, making it essential for the manager to be proactive in building relationships and facilitating discussions around AI tools and technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Community Engagement and Network Activation: Identify and engage AI experts across UNICEF’s offices, define roles for AI focal points, curate engaging content to stimulate dialogue, track engagement metrics, and serve as the first point of contact for AI-related inquiries.
  • Knowledge Management Governance for AI: Develop onboarding materials and community protocols, establish governance processes for the AI Knowledge Hub, and create a cohesive narrative on how AI tools enhance productivity and programming.
  • Event Management: Facilitate peer-to-peer exchanges, plan and host online and offline events, and co-design capacity-building sessions with the Frontier Data & Networks team.
  • Community Focal Point: Collaborate with the communications team to document success stories, produce knowledge briefs, and provide updates to senior management on community progress and challenges.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to UNICEF's core values of care, respect, integrity, trust, accountability, and sustainability. They should possess a strategic mindset, be innovative, and have the capacity to manage ambiguity and complexity. Additionally, candidates should have experience in community management, knowledge sharing, and event facilitation, particularly in the context of AI or technology.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communications, information technology, or social sciences is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in a related area is preferred, particularly in fields related to artificial intelligence, community management, or organizational development.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community management, knowledge management, or a related field. Experience working in international organizations or NGOs, particularly in roles related to technology or AI, is highly desirable. Proven track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and facilitating knowledge sharing is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to UNICEF's operational regions, would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Valencia, Spain, and offers a competitive compensation package, including a monthly living allowance, entry lump sum, family allowance, and exit allowance. The role includes comprehensive medical and life insurance coverage, as well as generous leave entitlements, including annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. The position is full-time and may involve occasional travel to other UNICEF offices.
