Job Overview: The Programme Associate position at UN Women involves providing support to the Programme Unit in developing and implementing effective programs that align with UN Women’s rules and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Providing administrative, financial, and logistical support for the formulation and management of thematic programs, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals.
Offering technical guidance to Country Offices (CO) and Multi-Country Offices (MCO) on routine delivery and reporting of program activities and finances.
Preparing information for audits and supporting the implementation of audit recommendations.
Reviewing program data for the CO/MCO/Regional Office website.
Identifying sources and compiling data for documents, guidelines, speeches, and position papers.
Supporting financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring budget preparation.
Reviewing financial reports and processing payments for consultants.
Maintaining an internal expenditures control system and assisting in the preparation of cost-recovery bills.
Organizing logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team. 1
Preparing public information materials and briefing packets, and providing guidance and training to Programme Assistants as needed. 1
Supporting resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements and processing information from donors. 1
Facilitating knowledge sharing by synthesizing lessons learned and organizing training for staff and partners.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Programme Associate position should possess the following qualifications:
Completion of secondary education is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration considered an asset.
At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, or program management/support.
Proficiency in working within a computer environment using multiple office software packages is essential.
Experience in supporting a team is required, along with familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Quantum or RMS.
Strong financial and budgeting skills, as well as the ability to manage data, documents, and correspondence effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration being an asset. This educational background is essential for understanding the administrative and financial aspects of the role, as well as for effective program management and support.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, or program management/support. This experience should include working in a computer environment and supporting a team, which is crucial for the collaborative nature of the role. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, particularly Quantum or RMS, is desirable but not mandatory.
Languages: Fluency in French is required for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and the region.
