Job Overview:
The Programme Officer position is crucial for the implementation of the Competencies for One Health field epidemiology (COHFE) framework in Bangladesh. This role involves coordinating efforts to enhance the country's health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security by developing a skilled workforce capable of addressing health threats at the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. The Programme Officer will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies and health sectors, to assess needs, engage in stakeholder consultations, and integrate the COHFE curriculum into existing training programs. The position requires a proactive approach to program management, mentorship training, and the establishment of quality assurance systems to ensure effective training delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: coordinating with a multisectoral working group to review existing documents and policies related to One Health governance; organizing national consultation workshops with decision-makers to identify workforce needs; leading the incorporation of the COHFE curriculum into the FETP Bangladesh curriculum; supporting the adaptation of knowledge, skills, and competencies for inclusion in national frameworks; developing guidelines for mentor onboarding; drafting a comprehensive mentorship training plan; implementing training programs; establishing a management and quality assurance system; submitting monthly activity and quarterly achievement reports; and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, medicine, veterinary medicine, or related fields, along with a postgraduate or master's degree in a relevant area. Specialized training in public health surveillance, field epidemiology, or response to epidemic and pandemic diseases is desirable. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in public health surveillance, field epidemiology, or related areas, with demonstrated experience in One Health initiatives and advising on field epidemiology training programs, particularly in resource-limited settings. Experience in curriculum development and training program evaluation is essential, as is familiarity with national and international guiding documents.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a four-year bachelor's degree in a relevant field, complemented by a postgraduate or master's degree. Specialized training in public health surveillance or field epidemiology is highly desirable, as it aligns with the responsibilities of the role and the objectives of the COHFE framework implementation.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in public health surveillance, field epidemiology, or response to diseases with epidemic and pandemic potential. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in One Health contexts and advising on training programs, particularly in low-resource environments. Experience in curriculum development and evaluation is also critical, as well as familiarity with the FET Program.

Languages:
Excellent proficiency in English is mandatory, particularly in writing, reporting, and communication. Strong editing skills are also required to ensure clarity and effectiveness in documentation and presentations. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.
