Job Overview:
The Platform Engineer - Network security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security will play a crucial role in the frontline of cyber defense, focusing on designing, implementing, and safeguarding next-generation security platforms. This position involves hands-on work with various technologies including firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), SSL VPNs, Network Access Control (NAC), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). The engineer will be responsible for building robust defenses that encompass perimeter protection, cloud security, zero-trust segmentation, and global load balancing. The role requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring that the organization's network infrastructure is resilient against cyber threats while also collaborating with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to enhance security measures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Platform Engineer - Network Security include but are not limited to:
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting next-generation firewalls and web application firewalls.
  • Ensuring the security of cloud network environments, particularly with Check Point and Microsoft Azure.
  • Managing and configuring SSL VPNs and SASE solutions.
  • Conducting regular assessments of network security measures and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security protocols into existing systems.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding network security best practices.
  • Staying updated on the latest security threats and trends to proactively address vulnerabilities.
  • Documenting security processes and procedures to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess intermediate to advanced technology certifications in network security, such as PAN Generalist and Specialist qualifications. Additionally, an entry-level service management certification, such as ITIL Foundation, is required. A foundational knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing and switching, is also essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of security technologies and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required for this position. Advanced degrees or specialized training in network security or related disciplines will be considered an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security, specifically in designing, implementing, and supporting security solutions. Experience working with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and cloud security platforms is essential. Familiarity with working in a collaborative environment with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the EBRD member countries, is considered a valuable asset but not a requirement.

This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 3 years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
