Job Overview: The Team Leader position is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of family support services in Darwin and Wadeye. This role involves leading a team of practitioners, providing supervision, coaching, and performance management to foster a strong and sustainable workforce. The Team Leader is responsible for monitoring and evaluating programmatic inputs and outcomes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders. The position requires a proactive approach to risk management and advocacy on behalf of children and families, ensuring that services are aligned with community needs and expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Leader will oversee the following duties:
Provide leadership and supervision to a team of practitioners, ensuring adherence to programmatic and organizational goals.
Monitor contracts and ensure compliance with service agreements and relevant legislation.
Maintain high-quality data for reporting and assessments, ensuring team compliance with internal policies.
Manage staffing and operational requirements, including rosters and absenteeism, in line with established budgets.
Build and maintain effective networks with stakeholders to promote programs and create referral pathways.
Participate in community events to raise awareness of programs.
Ensure a child-safe environment and compliance with child safeguarding policies.
Report incidents and manage risks associated with program delivery.
Lead health and safety initiatives within the team, promoting a culture of safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and develop teams effectively. They should have a deep understanding of child protection principles and experience in program management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with stakeholders and advocating for children and families. The ability to analyze data and report on program outcomes is also required, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is required for this position. Additional qualifications in leadership, management, or child protection will be considered an advantage. Continuous professional development in areas related to child welfare and community services is encouraged.
Experience: Candidates should have significant experience in a leadership role within the social services or child protection sector. Experience in managing teams and delivering programs that support children and families is essential. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the sector is also important, as is experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the local community may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse populations.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and based in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The role may involve occasional travel to other locations, such as Wadeye, to oversee program delivery.
