Job Overview: The Facilitator for the Kids Connect program plays a crucial role in supporting primary school-aged children who are facing social and academic challenges. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, particularly those with behavioral difficulties, low self-esteem, or poor school attendance. The facilitator will work within a casual framework, primarily from Monday to Thursday, contributing up to 24 hours per week during school terms. The role involves delivering engaging Kids Connect sessions, preparing and evaluating the effectiveness of these sessions, and maintaining strong communication with various stakeholders, including school staff, families, and the broader community. The facilitator is expected to foster a safe and caring learning environment, enabling children to practice positive behaviors and receive consistent reinforcement. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Facilitator include:
Delivering Kids Connect sessions to primary school children in the designated geographical area, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet the needs of the participants.
Preparing and evaluating the content and impact of the Kids Connect program, using feedback and assessment tools to measure success and areas for improvement.
Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, including school staff, families, and community members, to foster collaborative relationships that support the program's objectives.
Fostering maximum wellbeing for every child referred to the program, ensuring that their individual needs are met and that they feel safe and supported.
Developing and maintaining respectful relationships with parents, carers, and children, particularly those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
Managing multiple tasks efficiently while demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to the program's goals.
Participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a qualification in School Based Education Support, Early Childhood Education, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience in a similar role. Additionally, candidates should have experience working with children and families, demonstrating cultural and community knowledge that is essential for effectively engaging with diverse populations. A NT Driver’s Licence and a Working with Children Check (OCHRE Card) are mandatory, along with a Senior First Aid Certificate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants in the program.
