Job Overview:
The UNFCCC – UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme is designed to provide young graduates from developing countries with a unique opportunity to kickstart their careers at the intersection of international climate policy and research. This fellowship is particularly aimed at academically outstanding individuals who are in the early stages of their careers. Duties and Responsibilities:
Fellows will be expected to engage in various activities that align with the objectives of both UNU-EHS/VIE and UNFCCC. They will also be involved in drafting reports, preparing presentations, and collaborating with other fellows and staff members. Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be from a developing country and be 32 years or younger at the time of application. They should hold dual nationality, with one nationality corresponding to a least developed country, and must have lived in that country for at least six years. Candidates must be enrolled in their final term or have graduated from an advanced university degree (master’s, doctorate, or equivalent) with top marks in relevant fields. Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory, and proven engagement in extracurricular activities related to climate policy or research is considered an asset. While no professional experience is required, candidates with up to two years of relevant experience, including internships or assistant positions, may be considered.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree, such as a master's or doctorate, in fields relevant to the work of UNU-EHS/VIE and UNFCCC. This includes disciplines such as environmental science, climate policy, international relations, or related areas. Academic excellence is a key requirement, and applicants should provide transcripts or certificates to demonstrate their qualifications. The program encourages candidates from the Global South, emphasizing that experience in the Global North is not a requirement for eligibility.

Experience:
While no prior professional experience is necessary, candidates with up to two years of relevant experience may apply.
