Job Overview:
The Online Fundraising Volunteer position at LESCOTA is designed for individuals with strong proficiency in managing non-profit online fundraising platforms. The primary function of this role is to assist the organization in effectively utilizing online fundraising tools to raise funds for the construction of the Mango Pre and Primary English Medium School in Matekela, Tanzania. Volunteers will work closely with the program director to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the organization's mission. This role requires excellent teamwork skills, as all communications and meetings will be conducted via WhatsApp and email. Volunteers will not be responsible for submitting funding requests or soliciting donations from third parties, but rather will provide strategic advice and guidance to enhance the organization's fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advise LESCOTA on the effective use of selected online fundraising platforms.
  • Collaborate with the program director to develop a fundraising strategy tailored to the organization's needs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on best practices for online fundraising.
  • Assist in the creation of engaging content for fundraising campaigns.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the program director to discuss progress and strategies.
  • Ensure that all communications are clear and effective, utilizing WhatsApp and email for coordination.
  • Support the organization in building a strong online presence to attract potential donors.
  • Help identify target audiences for fundraising campaigns and suggest outreach strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong proficiency in managing online fundraising platforms, with a proven track record of success in non-profit fundraising.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector and an understanding of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Educational Background:
A background in non-profit management, fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with relevant experience and skills may also be considered regardless of formal education. A passion for supporting rural communities and children's education is essential.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in online fundraising, particularly within the non-profit sector. Experience in developing fundraising strategies and managing campaigns is highly desirable. Familiarity with various online fundraising platforms and tools is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is a plus, as it may enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.
