Job Overview: The Analyst position within the EU Banks & Structured Finance Team at EBRD is designed for an ambitious and self-driven professional who is eager to contribute to the team's mission of facilitating financial institutions investments and structured finance products across the European Union. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities throughout the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will work closely with senior bankers and project teams, taking on tasks that require comprehensive due diligence, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and compliance with EBRD policies. Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the operation leader or senior bankers. Key responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: Collaborating with project teams on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, evaluating potential risks, preparing internal project documentation, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting: Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of projects, preparing monitoring reports, and making recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
Business Development: Supporting marketing and business development efforts, progressively taking on more complex tasks and responsibilities as expertise is developed. The Analyst's role is integral to the success of the team and the projects undertaken, requiring a proactive approach and strong analytical skills.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Credit analysis skills, familiarity with local and international accounting principles, and proficiency in data analysis are also required. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable using computer and AI tools, including Microsoft Office and financial modeling software, with knowledge of Python, SQL, and Excel/VBA considered a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of financial principles and practices. Candidates with equivalent professional experience in relevant sectors may also be considered, particularly if they demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential for this role. Candidates should have a background in investment or commercial banking, private equity, asset management, or auditing/financial consulting, ideally operating to international standards. Practical experience in participating in transactions throughout the full project life cycle is desirable, as is exposure to the financial institutions sector and bank credit analysis. The ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and contribute to effective teamwork is also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions in which EBRD operates, enhancing the Analyst's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders.
