Job Overview:
The Senior Officer, DEI will serve as a DEI Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be responsible for leading the foundation's DEI initiatives specifically in India and China. This role involves acting as a thought partner, providing guidance, advice, and support to key stakeholders, including senior leadership and functional teams, to enhance the effectiveness of the foundation's DEI strategy. The Senior Officer will design and deliver DEI content tailored to the specific contexts of these regions, ensuring that the initiatives align with the operational realities of the foundation's offices. The position requires proactive collaboration with senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging and shared expectations across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic DEI Leadership: Serve as a DEI subject matter expert, providing insights and guidance to leadership and teams in India and China.
  • Planning & Implementation: Lead the development and execution of the DEI strategy and workstreams for teams in the specified regions.
  • Advisory & Consultation: Collaborate with senior leadership and working groups to advance strategic priorities while aligning with the foundation's overall approach.
  • DEI Integration into Business Functions: Work across various teams and divisions to ensure that DEI priorities are integrated into operational, talent management, and programmatic efforts.
  • Cultural & Regional Alignment: Offer context-specific DEI guidance that reflects both global and local landscapes.
  • Partnership & Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to create resources and tools that support DEI initiatives.
  • Change Management & Capability Building: Work with HR Business Partners to foster an inclusive culture through coaching and structured initiatives.
  • DEI Content Design and Delivery: Lead the development of DEI content informed by local community voices and facilitate engagement efforts.
  • DEI Portfolio and Partner Management: Oversee external partners and contracts that support the DEI strategy in India and China.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in DEI or a closely related discipline at a senior level. They should have experience in designing and implementing tools, processes, and learning agendas that align with organizational strategies and drive meaningful impact. Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record in developing and facilitating dialogue sessions and staff engagement initiatives, particularly in global contexts. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build trusted relationships, and effective communication skills are essential for influencing behavior shifts within the organization.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required for this position. Advanced degrees or certifications in diversity, equity, and inclusion, human resources, organizational development, or related disciplines may be preferred but are not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in DEI or a closely related field at a senior level. This experience should include designing and implementing DEI strategies, tools, and processes that align with organizational goals and drive significant impact. Experience in global organizations and the ability to navigate complex cultural contexts are crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
