Duties and Responsibilities: The key accountabilities and tasks for this position include:
Ensuring timely execution of communication products and materials to support the country communication strategy and resource mobilization efforts.
Providing professional assistance in developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets across various platforms, including print, TV, radio, and web.
Conducting regular monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact of communication efforts and preparing reports accordingly.
Maintaining and developing a contact list of individuals, groups, and organizations that can assist in achieving advocacy and communication objectives, including participation in special events and activities that support the country program goals.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields. Additionally, candidates should have one year of practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media, with fieldwork experience being a requirement. Familiarity with emergency situations is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate skills in multimedia production, social media management, photography, and graphic design.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or any related field. This foundational education is essential for understanding the complexities of communication strategies and media relations.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of practical professional work experience in communication, which includes experience in print and broadcast media or interactive digital media. Languages: Fluency in French is required for this position.
