Job Overview:
The Senior security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of WFP staff, facilities, and operations in Quetta, Pakistan. This position requires a proactive approach to security management, including the planning, organization, and coordination of security tasks. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing security threats and risks, producing comprehensive reports, and providing technical expertise on security risk management. The role involves building relationships with external stakeholders, overseeing field missions, and implementing risk management measures. The Senior Security Associate will also supervise junior security staff, ensuring they are motivated and well-trained to perform their duties effectively. This position is vital for maintaining a secure environment that allows WFP to carry out its humanitarian mission effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze security threats and risks, producing comprehensive reports for senior staff review.
  • Analyze security-related information and produce complex analyses and in-depth reports.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate safe program delivery.
  • Oversee staff activities during field missions and ensure compliance with WFP security standards.
  • Analyze security assessment reports and devise risk mitigation measures.
  • Provide technical expertise on security risk management to senior management.
  • Implement risk management measures and improve compliance with Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS).
  • Manage security equipment and enhance technology capacity.
  • Ensure effective access control procedures are followed. 1
  • Develop emergency and contingency planning documentation. 1
  • Design and deliver security training to staff. 1
  • Supervise and provide on-the-job training to junior staff. 1
  • Provide operational guidance for the WFP guard force. 1
  • Attend and summarize security meetings, advising management on security decisions. 1
  • Maintain updated security documentation and records. 1
  • Submit mandatory reports and track missions in coordination with security operations. 1
  • Ensure new staff receive security briefings and training. 1
  • Track missions and maintain communication with security operations centers. 1
  • Update records of guards’ attendance and shifts. 2
  • Perform any other tasks as required within the area of expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Psychology, International Relations, Commercial Law, or a related field with a focus on security management. A Bachelor's Degree from a police academy or military college is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates must have completed secondary school education with a post-secondary certificate in a relevant field focusing on security.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Psychology, International Relations, or Commercial Law. A focus on security management is advantageous, and a Bachelor's Degree from a police academy or military college is highly desirable. Candidates must also have completed secondary school education with a post-secondary certificate in a related field.

Experience:
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible work experience in security operations, security risk management, or related areas is required. Experience in military police is desirable, and local security experience in Balochistan is considered an asset. Candidates should have supported elements of projects and operational activities that maintain security operations functions and provided expert technical guidance and training to staff members. Experience in data collation, analysis, and report drafting that informs security operations activities is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is required for this position. Knowledge of an additional local language is considered an added advantage, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is a Fixed Term Contract for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension. It is specifically for Pakistani Nationals.
