Job Overview: The Consultant for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support will play a crucial role in the expansion of IOM DRC's MHPSS programming. This position involves the development and implementation of integrated tools for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, specifically focusing on the use of Kobo forms and a CRM system. The Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that these systems are effectively utilized to track service delivery and generate reliable reports. The role also includes capacity building for national staff and partners, ensuring they can independently manage reporting processes and maintain data quality. The Consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of MHPSS services in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, particularly in conflict-affected areas.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Consultant will undertake a variety of tasks including:
Supporting the ongoing development and rollout of Kobo forms and CRM systems for MHPSS programming, ensuring workflows align with program objectives.
Developing a user-friendly training manual for the Kobo forms and CRM system in both English and French.
Providing training to DRC-based MHPSS staff and selected partners on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and donor reporting.
Engaging with implementing partners to present the systems and guide their usage.
Contributing to the drafting and review of narrative donor and M&E reports.
Creating comprehensive handover and supervision mechanisms for MHPSS reporting and M&E processes.
Providing technical troubleshooting support and advising on potential system expansions.
Contributing to research collaborations and partnerships in DRC.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in project management, information and data management, statistics, international relations, or a related social science field. They should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years in reporting, proposal development, and data management. Previous experience with MHPSS programming and CRM systems is highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong skills in harmonizing procedures between Kobo and CRM platforms, developing SOP manuals, and providing training to staff and partners.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in relevant fields such as project management, information and data management, statistics, international relations, or other related social sciences is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the Consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the MHPSS programming and reporting processes.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with a strong emphasis on at least 6 years of work related to reporting, proposal development, and data management. Candidates should have substantial experience in MHPSS programming and familiarity with CRM systems, which will be critical for the successful execution of the role's responsibilities.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in French is considered an advantage. Given that IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, candidates will be evaluated on their language skills during the selection process, which may involve written and/or oral assessments to ensure effective communication within the organization and with stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is home-based, meaning no travel is required. The contract will be subject to funding confirmation and the candidate's medical fitness for appointment. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses under its Compensation Plan, but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational issues. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before starting work. IOM maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct and does not charge fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
