Job Overview:
The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in the Partnerships Visibility Team within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) division of WFP. This position is designed for a creative individual who will be responsible for designing and updating marketing and pitch materials that support WFP's partnerships and fundraising strategies. The designer will work under the supervision of the Editorial Communications Officer and will be expected to produce high-quality visual content that aligns with WFP's branding. The role requires a strong understanding of visual communication and the ability to create compelling graphics that effectively convey WFP's mission and impact. The designer will also enhance visual storytelling through the editing of audiovisual materials, ensuring that WFP's work with private sector partners is effectively showcased.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer will lead the design and development of high-quality pitching and marketing materials, ensuring consistency with WFP’s branding. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing campaign creative for use across WFP’s and private partners’ channels, including websites and social media.
  • Editing and revising existing materials to maintain visual consistency and high quality.
  • Creating custom on-brand creative assets such as icons, infographics, templates, and layouts for partnership toolkits.
  • Enhancing visual storytelling by editing audiovisual communication materials that highlight WFP’s impact.
  • Providing design expertise and creative solutions to support strategic goals and initiatives across the division.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that all materials meet the required standards and effectively communicate WFP's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree and/or at least 5 years of work experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia Design, or a related field. They should have a strong portfolio demonstrating their design skills and creativity. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) is essential, along with strong data visualization skills. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of typography, layout, and composition, and experience in creating visually appealing presentations, particularly in PowerPoint and online applications like Canva. Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to corporate visual style and brand identity guides are crucial.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia Design, or a related field is required. Alternatively, candidates with significant work experience in a relevant area may also be considered. A strong educational background in design principles and visual communication is essential for success in this role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in graphic design. This experience should include a proven track record of creating high-quality visual content for various platforms and audiences. Experience in the humanitarian sector or with non-profit organizations is a plus, as it provides context for the type of work WFP engages in.

Languages:
An excellent command of spoken and written English is mandatory. Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) would be advantageous and is considered a plus for this position.

This position is a Regular Consultant role at 80% time, with a contract duration of 11 months. The role is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location.
