The IMF's Language Services Division (LS) is part of the Corporate Services & Facilities Department (CSF) and is responsible for providing multi-lingual translation services to support the IMF's mandates in surveillance, lending, and capacity development.

Job Overview:
The Translation Coordination Analyst/Senior Translation Coordination Analyst (TCA) position is a vital role within the Language Services Division of the IMF. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all translation projects, which include publications and digital content. This role requires monitoring the progress of translation projects to ensure they are completed accurately and delivered on time. The TCA will provide exceptional customer service and work under the general direction of the Chief Translator and the supervision of the Section Chief of the Translation Coordination Center (TCC). The position involves facilitating the fulfillment of the IMF’s mandates by ensuring that translation requests are handled efficiently and effectively, thereby supporting the organization's overall mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the TCA include coordinating translation requests and serving as the main point of contact for requestors, translation sections, and freelancers. The TCA must ensure that all requests are properly authorized and completed in a timely manner, adhering to LS policies, guidelines, and procedures. The role involves working closely with divisional colleagues to anticipate and meet the needs of the translation sections, coordinating the distribution of translation jobs to in-house staff and freelancers. Additionally, the TCA will support translation sections by preparing files for use in a computer-assisted translation (CAT) environment, which includes performing document analysis and providing pre-translation using SDL Studio while managing requests in the Translation Management System (TMS). The TCA will also maintain and update a database of freelance translators and translation-related service providers, coordinate and manage the translation and production of flagship and other publications, and provide language-specific assistance to translation sections, including text processing and basic proofreading.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in Translation, Linguistics, Economics, or a related field. Experience in translation project management is essential, along with advanced knowledge and experience with standard computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, particularly SDL, and translation management systems (TMS), such as Plunet. Familiarity with machine translation technology, localization, and content management systems is also required. Native proficiency in French and/or Arabic, along with excellent working knowledge of English, is mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, is necessary. Knowledge of desktop publishing (DTP) tools such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator is also important, as is in-depth knowledge of web-based systems used for video and digital content creation and editing.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree or equivalent in fields such as Translation, Linguistics, Economics, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of translation and project management within a global organization like the IMF.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have experience in translation project management, which involves overseeing translation projects from initiation to completion. This experience should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in translations.

Languages:
