Job Overview: The Integration Associate position is designed to support the integration of Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’s) in Ireland. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Senior Integration Associate, focusing on facilitating access to essential support services, language provision, and individualized assistance for BOTP’s. This role is critical in ensuring that these individuals receive the necessary support to integrate successfully into Irish society. The Integration Associate will also be involved in monitoring project activities, conducting vulnerability assessments, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Integration Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities; compiling and analyzing data on project topics; supporting the development of the Transitional Accommodation strategy; conducting vulnerability assessments for BOTP’s; providing individualized case support; coordinating with Emergency Accommodation Centres; disseminating information to BOTP’s; drafting reports and correspondence; responding to inquiries; organizing meetings and training sessions; and monitoring the work of implementing partners. The role also involves providing guidance and training to new or junior staff members and performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a school diploma with five years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential, as is experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations is advantageous.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a school diploma with five years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited academic institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received a recognized and quality education that prepares them for the complexities of migration and integration work.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, particularly in roles that involve working with migrants, refugees, or other vulnerable populations. Experience in a multicultural setting and with international humanitarian organizations is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required, as the role involves data management and reporting.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in Ukrainian and/or Russian, both oral and written. The selection process will specifically evaluate language proficiency, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Knowledge of IOM’s official languages, which include French and Spanish, is considered an asset but not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates with a valid residence and work permit for Ireland will be considered. The appointment is contingent upon funding confirmation and medical fitness certification. Candidates may remain eligible for similar positions for up to 24 months following this selection process.
