Job Overview: The AVRR Unit Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Unit within the IOM Country Office in Dublin, Ireland. This position involves overseeing the case management team, ensuring quality and consistency in handling individual cases, and coordinating various functions related to the safe and dignified return of migrants. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering pre-departure counseling, conducting protection screenings, and assessing the needs of vulnerable cases. Duties and Responsibilities: The AVRR Unit Coordinator will supervise and guide the AVRR case management team, ensuring that individual case handling and documentation meet quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of pre-departure counseling, protection screenings, and needs assessments, particularly for vulnerable populations such as victims of trafficking, unaccompanied minors, and survivors of gender-based violence. The incumbent will review individual reintegration assistance plans to ensure they are sustainable and culturally appropriate, facilitate referrals for specialized protection support, and maintain communication with relevant services. The role also involves liaising with government authorities, civil society, and IOM missions abroad to support the safe return of migrants. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and updating internal procedures and guidelines, organizing case conferences, and contributing to training sessions for staff. Additionally, the incumbent will carry out accurate data entry and case documentation in IOM databases, draft reports on protection trends and program outputs, and support IOM's participation in relevant coordination forums. Monitoring program expenditures and supporting procurement and logistics activities in line with IOM procedures are also key responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma with at least seven years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, and non-governmental organizations is essential. Familiarity with working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups is required, and previous experience with international humanitarian organizations is advantageous. Knowledge of Movement Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related systems and databases is considered an asset. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Internet applications, are necessary, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma with extensive relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
