Job Overview:
The Specialist position is integral to the World Economic Forum's Beijing Representative Office, specifically within the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG). This role involves a blend of administrative support and active engagement in government relations, dedicating approximately 30% of time to administrative tasks and 70% to government engagement activities. The Specialist will be responsible for conducting policy research, supporting government initiatives, and facilitating communication between the Forum and Chinese government entities. This position is crucial for aligning the Forum's initiatives with the priorities of the Chinese government, thereby enhancing the Forum's impact in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Specialist will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: 1. Providing administrative support such as data entry, background research, and logistical coordination for events and meetings. 2. Conducting policy research on developments within central and local government to inform Forum initiatives. 3. Supporting engagement with government departments at various levels for Forum initiatives, including major events like the Annual Meeting in Davos and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China. 4. Conducting stakeholder mapping to identify opportunities that align with Chinese government priorities. 5. Providing logistical support for Chinese officials attending Forum events and for Forum leadership visits to China. 6. Drafting briefing materials, talking points, and communications, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery of key information to stakeholders. 7. Supporting ad hoc tasks and projects from the global CRTG team, the Beijing Office, and the Geneva headquarters.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in government, international organizations, think tanks, or consulting. A Master’s degree in public policy, international relations, economics, politics, or a related field is required. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of the structure and operations of the Chinese government, along with a high level of integrity and clarity in communication. The ability to provide and receive direct feedback is essential, as is the capacity to multitask and work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also necessary, and overseas study or professional experience with international organizations is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in public policy, international relations, economics, politics, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of government engagement and policy research effectively.

Experience:
