Job Overview: The Programme Analyst Youth plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends that impact youth in Yemen. This position is integral to the effective delivery of UNFPA's programs, particularly those aimed at youth empowerment and gender equality. The Programme Analyst will work closely with the UNFPA Deputy Representative and will be responsible for establishing collaborative relationships with government counterparts, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. The role requires a strong understanding of youth issues and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders to contribute to UNFPA's mandate. The Programme Analyst will also be involved in the formulation of country programs and component projects, ensuring that youth interventions are aligned with national efforts and priorities. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for UNFPA assistance and intervention, particularly in humanitarian settings, and requires a commitment to delivering high-impact results that align with UNFPA's strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Analyst Youth will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Participating in the formulation of the country programme and component projects by compiling and analyzing relevant information, drafting project documents, and preparing statistical data.
Establishing collaborations with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners to develop UNFPA-supported youth interventions and strategies.
Providing technical support to national partners in the design and implementation of youth programs.
Evaluating project and program activities, systematically assessing achievements, and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Conducting field visits and participating in review meetings and evaluation missions to monitor the implementation of youth interventions.
Analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA activities and identifying opportunities for assistance.
Supporting the Programme Coordinator in ensuring linkages between youth interventions and broader efforts to promote gender equality and sexual reproductive health rights.
Assisting in the establishment and maintenance of partnerships with implementing partners and other UN agencies. 1
Providing information to analyze the implications of new policy developments on program execution related to youth. 1
Collaborating with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to capture lessons learned for future planning. 1
Participating in UN Youth interagency team discussions and representing UNFPA in youth taskforces. 1
Undertaking any other duties as requested by the supervisor or the Representative.
