The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a prominent protection agency established to safeguard, advocate for, and promote sustainable solutions for populations affected by displacement. Since its inception, DRC has been dedicated to addressing the needs of displaced individuals and communities, ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices are heard. DRC has been operational in Ukraine since 2014, employing over 800 staff members who are engaged in various sectors including emergency response, protection, livelihoods, shelter/NFIs, and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding. The organization utilizes direct interventions, supports duty bearers, collaborates with civil society organizations (CSOs), and forms partnerships to enhance its impact. DRC is committed to adapting its durable solutions portfolio to meet the evolving context of humanitarian needs in Ukraine.

Job Overview:
The primary purpose of the Driver role is to facilitate and manage passenger transportation within Ukraine, specifically in Kharkiv, while also planning and overseeing logistics activities that support humanitarian assistance operations. The driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of operations teams and field offices, ensuring that all transportation needs are met effectively. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle management, including adherence to safety protocols and maintenance schedules. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting daily vehicle driving duties and performing inspections in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Fleet Management. The driver must ensure that each vehicle is equipped with a Vehicle Logbook, First Aid Kit, and Fire Extinguisher. Regular cleaning of the vehicles, both inside and out, is required. The driver must report any accidents, damages, or defects to the Fleet Officer and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Specialist, completing the necessary Accident Report for further action. It is essential to check and ensure that Vehicle Logbooks are accurately filled out and that vehicles are parked correctly during both day and night at the office parking area. The driver must understand and comply with all traffic laws and regulations applicable in Ukraine and those set by DRC. Additionally, the driver is responsible for advising the SC Officer of any needed services and maintenance for the assigned vehicle at least three days in advance. Effective communication with Fleet Officers and Security Officers is crucial, as is monitoring fuel levels and organizing refueling. The driver is expected to submit the completed Logbook to the Fleet Officer at the end of each day and must be flexible to work according to the operational needs of the organization.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license in categories B and C. A minimum of five years of driving experience is required, preferably within international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). Additionally, candidates must demonstrate fluency in the Ukrainian language and have experience driving manual transmission vehicles. An accident-free driving record over the past 5-7 years in a similar role is essential. Candidates should also have knowledge of the technical characteristics of vehicles and possess basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with the local area is also expected.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is secondary education; however, a university degree is desirable. This educational background will support the candidate's ability to perform the duties associated with the role effectively and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant driving experience, ideally in a similar role within an international non-governmental organization. This experience should include a proven track record of safe driving practices and familiarity with the operational requirements of humanitarian assistance.

Languages:
Fluency in the Ukrainian language is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in English at level A1 is considered desirable, as it may facilitate communication within the organization and with international partners. Knowledge of local dialects or languages may also be beneficial.

Additional Notes:
The contract length for this position is contingent upon successful completion of a three-month probationary period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and available funding. The designated duty station for this role is Kharkiv, with a start date anticipated in November 202
