Job Overview:
As a Digital Content Assistant within the Aviation Intelligence Unit (AIU) at EUROCONTROL, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the clarity, coherence, and accuracy of data products and documents prior to their publication. Your responsibilities will include supporting the creation of visual content and preparing data for various reports and dashboards. You will work closely with senior team members to enhance the quality of publications and ensure that visual elements are engaging and informative for the target audience. This position requires a blend of technical skills and creativity, as you will be tasked with producing infographics and other visual data content that effectively communicates complex information. Additionally, you will assist in stakeholder surveys and contribute to the overall improvement of AIU products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include supporting the creation of dashboards, reports, and data summaries, as well as reviewing and editing publications to ensure consistency in data visuals and content accuracy. You will assist in collecting and formatting large datasets from various sources, coordinating with internal teams to enhance publication quality. Your role will also involve producing and adapting visual data content, such as infographics and diagrams, to represent technical data concepts effectively. Furthermore, you will prepare materials for meetings and workshops, support the creation of stakeholder surveys, and carry out any other tasks aligned with the main purpose of your job.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: a post-secondary education meeting EQF Level 5 or higher with a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience; completed third-level studies meeting EQF Level 6 or higher (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant working experience; or completed third-level studies meeting EQF Level 7 or higher (Master’s degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience. Additionally, candidates should have experience in developing infographics, reviewing technical documentation, and possess technical drafting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and graphic design skills are essential, along with experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed post-secondary education that meets the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 5 or higher. This can include a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Candidates should have a strong foundation in data visualization, graphic design, and technical documentation, which are critical for the role of Digital Content Assistant.

Experience:
The level of experience required for this position varies based on the educational qualifications. Candidates with a post-secondary education (EQF Level 5) must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) need at least 2 years, and candidates with a Master’s degree (EQF Level 7) should have a minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience. Experience in developing infographics and adapting data-driven visuals for a general audience is particularly important, as is familiarity with reviewing and editing technical documentation.

Languages:
Proficiency in English at level C2 is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the agency. Candidates may also be required to become basic users of French at level A1 before the end of their probation period. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly in a multicultural work environment.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a full-time contract for a duration of 5 years, with the possibility of extension or conversion into an undetermined contract. Candidates must successfully complete a probationary period of 9 months before being established in the post. The selected candidate will be engaged at the basic grade of the advertised grades, and a reserve list will be maintained for candidates who are suitable but not selected.
