Job Overview: The Reporting and Knowledge Management Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's Child Protection team within the Programme Group. This position is designed for a committed and creative professional who is passionate about making a lasting difference for children. The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at strengthening the Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA) programming, which includes planning, resource mobilization, monitoring and reporting, knowledge management, and evidence building. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Child Protection Senior Advisor and will be expected to deliver specific outputs that contribute to the overall mission of UNICEF, which is to ensure that every child is protected from violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. The role requires a strong understanding of child protection issues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including advising and assisting on CPHA team planning processes, supporting resource mobilization efforts, providing technical support related to results monitoring and reporting, contributing to knowledge management and learning within the CPHA global team, and supporting the development and dissemination of communication and advocacy products. Specific duties include organizing and coordinating planning milestones, preparing high-quality donor reports, monitoring key performance indicators, facilitating the consolidation of CPHA results for corporate reporting, and designing knowledge management processes. The consultant will also be responsible for developing communication products that elevate CPHA visibility and impact, both internally and externally, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters) in relevant fields such as Human Rights and law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">International Law, Political Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in the development and/or humanitarian sector, preferably within the Child Protection sector. A good technical understanding of knowledge management and reporting requirements is essential, along with proficiency in information technology. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Masters) in Human Rights and International Law, Political Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field is required for this position. Equivalent programming experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the development and/or humanitarian sector, with a preference for candidates who have specific experience in the Child Protection sector. Candidates should demonstrate a strong technical understanding of knowledge management and reporting requirements, as well as experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
Languages: Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is mandatory for this role. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the position.

The consultant is expected to be available during Eastern Standard Time (EST) working hours. Travel may be required depending on the needs of the program, and funding for certain deliverables may be contingent upon the availability of additional resources.
